Why Track Your Application?
After submitting a CNIC, NICOP, or related application, tracking lets you know exactly which stage your request is at — received, in process, dispatched, or ready for collection — without needing to visit the NADRA Registration Center in person.
Method 1: Check via SMS (Fast)
Text your Tracking ID or CNIC number to 8400 for an immediate status update. This is the quickest method and works on any basic mobile phone without needing internet access, making it especially useful for applicants in areas with limited connectivity.
Method 2: Check via Pak Identity App (Comprehensive)
Download the official "Pak Identity" app from the App Store or Google Play and log in with your registered account. The app gives a more detailed breakdown of your application's progress through four stages:
- Received — Your application and documents have been logged into the system
- In Process — Biometric data is being verified against the database
- Dispatch — The card has been printed and handed to the courier
- Dispatch (final) — The card is en route to your selected NRC or address for collection
What Each Status Means for Your Timeline
If your status has remained at "In Process" for longer than your selected tier's expected timeframe, it usually indicates a verification hold — often due to a family tree mismatch or an unclear document scan — rather than a system delay. In such cases, contacting NADRA support directly is faster than continuing to check the tracker.
Frequently Asked Questions
How soon after applying can I start tracking?
Tracking is usually available within 24 hours of your application being submitted and your token generated.
What if the SMS service doesn't respond?
This can happen during high traffic periods. Try the Pak Identity app instead, or wait a few hours before resending the SMS.
Does tracking work for NICOP applications submitted abroad?
Yes, the same Tracking ID system applies to NICOP applications processed through overseas missions.
